As the name suggests, this unit comes with the added convenience of having user selectable dip switches on the rear panel for various cartridge loading.

Rather than compromise on components "The MicroGroove" utilises the same basic circuit topology as its predecessor, i.e. a low noise Class A front end device providing gain, feeding a passive equalisation circuit, followed by a phase error correction circuit with an active DC servo around the correction stage to roll off subsonics and DC offset. To reduce costs, both channels are built onto a single board powered by a single power supply.

The Microgroove+ X MKII is a high end phono stage from Tom Evans Audio Design, which features several upgrades over the standard Microgroove model. It has Lithos 7 class A regulators in place of the standard regulators. The upgrades result in a greatly enhanced sound quality, with a lower noise floor and more musical presentation. Each MicroGroove+ is hand built to your specification in Great Britain. All impedances and cartridge output voltages are available to order. The adjustable "X" board is included which allows you to adjust cartridge loading.

The incredibly low noise floor out performs almost every other phono stage in the World today and is therefore theoretically capable of twice the dynamic range than a CD.

All of our range now come with selectable dip switches to give you a choice of 5 cartridge loading resistances per channel. 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 ohm are selectable, and if you require a custom load then please let us know.

The gain is set for an optimum level to suit most current cartridges of 0.2mv to 0.6mv Other gains can be catered for upon request.

Such is the advancement in this improved version of the MicroGroove+, that it will now out perform previous much higher cost mark1 versions of Tom Evans' own phono stages!
