The Revolver and Evenstar are two of the most pleasantly surprising turntable upgrades we have seen in recent years. We weren’t sure they would provide the uplift in audible clarity they boasted… until we actually heard them ourselves…<\/p>\n\n\n

We have been selling Tangerine Audio<\/a> products for a few years now and with their recent release of the Revolver<\/a> and Evenstar<\/a> we have seen a huge amount of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both are nice and easy to do back to back comparisons on and we are happy to lend them out so you can try them at home, in your own system with enough time to make an informed decision on the benefits and improvements to your turntable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evenstar – Disc Stabiliser<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Evenstar<\/a> weighs 118gm, is machined from a solid billet of aluminium, anodised, and finished in satin silver. The side that makes contact with the vinyl rests on three machined lands. \u200bThe topside has a machined-out recess which \u200baids weight distribution and gentle down force with no adverse affects on the suspension or bearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The point is to stabilise the record and make the job of the stylus more optimal – this results in a better sound quality. \u200bThere is a clarity to the sound and greater authority. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evenstar<\/a> is a high quality accessory at an affordable price and is available in Black, Silver and a Linn Troika inspired Red finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revolver – Outer Platter for Linn LP12<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Machined from a single billet of high grade austenitic (non magnetic) stainless steel, Revolver<\/a> weighs 2.530 kg +\/- 45 gm.  In the vast majority of cases Revolver is a straight forward swap over upgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inner diameter remains the same ensuring compatibility with both Radikal and Lingo 4 sensor pick ups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary benefit is even weight distribution which allows the stylus to track the groove at optimum level. Unlike a cast platter there is no porosity (gaps or air pockets, think honeycomb bar). Porosity has a detrimental effect causing the platter to be unbalanced. \u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revolver<\/a> is not subject to these compromises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200bThe manufacturing process ensures each unit is within a very fine tolerance of 0.10mm and beautifully finished in natural silver. (The finish is very prone showing fingerprints. Luckily, Tangerine provide a pair of white gloves with every Revolver<\/a>!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
