Clearway
While some companies compete to create the world’s most expensive hi-fi, others are producing good quality equipment at prices that make them genuine bargains. It’s easy to put together an affordable system that really works. We know how good these systems can sound and the Clearway cable range has been designed to offer cables with level of performance to match.
Shawline
Refinement and sophistication take centre stage. Hand built in UK with high-quality silver-plated conductors, XLPE insulation, complex layers of shielding and Chord’s unique ARAY geometry. A cable proven via hours of demo sessions with all manner of hi-fi equipment.
Epic
A long-time Chord Company favourite, hand built in UK and with genuine audiophile pedigree. Similar in design to the Shawline cable but enjoying heavier gauge, silver-plated conductors with improved internal geometry. As the name suggests, Epic features Chord’s unique ARAY technology and is now further upgraded with the latest XLPE insulation where applicable.
Signature
A revelation in musical coherence – putting the performance first. Launched in 1998 and Chord’s first interconnect to use serious shielding. Signature was the result of intensive research into high-frequency interference and the design has influenced every cable that they’ve developed since. Signature cables are assembled by hand – a process that allows further enhancement via our unique ARAY technology.
Sarum T
Chord Sarum was the cable that changed everything. It was where Chord developed Tuned/Super ARAY conductor geometry and one of the most exciting things they’ve ever done. Sarum T is the latest version of this award-winning range and features Chord Company’s unique Taylon® insulation.
Chameleon
Chord Chameleon is a range available exclusively at Soundcraft Hi-Fi.
Originally launched in 1990, this one-time re-production benefits from the latest technological breakthroughs at Chord including being fitted with their current VEE 3 connectors benefiting from PTFE insulation and a signal return surround providing secure high pressure contact with RCA sockets.
In terms of where it sits in the range, Chameleon is at a similar performance level to Clearway.
GroundARAY
You probably thought a company named Chord only makes cables right? You would be wrong.
Chord also make a range of noise reduction devices that provide a low impedance route for high frequency noise to pass through. This lowers the noise floor in your system giving more space for the music. The difference is a larger sense of scale and much improved individuality to each musical layer (be that instrument or vocals).
PowerHAUS
Furthermore, Chord have incorporated their ARAY technology into a range of mains distribution blocks designed to once again reduce noise and improve audible performance.
English Electric
English Electric is a sub brand owned and operated by Chord. Here you can find a selection of components focused on cleaning up the quality of streamed music through wired connections. The range includes the 8Switch 8 port network switch and the EE1 & EE1 Plus Network Noise Isolators.
