FAQs

Can I use voice to control WiiM Mini?
Yes, the WiiM Mini can be voice-controlled using Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri when connected over Wi-Fi to a voice-enabled devices (such as the Echo, iPhone or Homepod etc.).

What’s the difference between the WiiM Amp, Amp Pro, Ultra, Pro Plus, Pro, and Mini?
WiiM Amp is an all-in-one streaming amplifier box, designed to provide both streaming capabilities and amplification to your passive speakers. It comes equipped with HDMI ARC, Sub Out and a USB port, enabling playback of local music via USB. The Wiim Amp Pro takes this a step further with an updated DAC chip and improved technology for exceptional audio.

On the other hand, the WiiM Pro Plus, Pro and Mini are dedicated music streamers that require an external amplifier for operation. Unlike WiiM Amp, they do not feature the HDMI ARC, Sub Out or USB ports.

The Wiim Ultra then serves as both a streamer, DAC as well as pre-amplifier, all housed in a sleek chassis with full touch-screen operation. The additional inputs and outputs make the Ultra's integration into any existing system seemless.

Can I use multiple WiiM devices to build a wireless whole house sound system?
Yes, you can group multiple devices in WiiM Home App to build a wireless whole house sound system easily. Additionally you can achieve this with Apple Airplay2 or Alexa compatible devices using their native apps.

Can the WiiM Mini be calibrated so there is no lag to other Apple Airplay 2 Speakers?
The WiiM Mini supports auto calculation of its audio latency via its built-in microphone that enables it to play in sync with other Apple Airplay 2 speakers.

"The WiiM Mini, months after its debut, continues to evolve. In recent days, WiiM added Amazon Music Ultra HD at 24/192. Tidal Master/MQA and Roon support are said to be coming soon.

For now, its bit-perfect 24-bit/192kHz makes this $99 device an astonishing value as an entry-level, high-end streamer. That it also serves as an all-purpose streamer and multi-room audio conduit only adds to its appeal."

"The WiiM Mini's analog input and output are serviceable, but it's the ability to output hi-rez audio data from its TosLink output that gets this bargain-priced product a recommendation from me. But to ensure bit-perfect playback, unless you are using a D/A processor that is restricted to sample rates of 96kHz or lower, be sure to set the Mini's S/PDIF output to 24/192. And to make sure the device is working at its best, be sure to download the latest firmware update."

"For £90, the Wiim is viceless; any complaint you make about a gap in the spec or limit to performance (which is scanty anyway), washed away by it costing as much as a big night out (and depending on how close to a city centre you are these days, not that big)"
